The incorporated town of Upper Marlboro is 0.4 sq miles, less one mile across and half a mile wide, 4.65% of it is water. Once a port town, the area sits on the Western branch of the Potomac River and is the oldest surviving Southern Maryland town dating back to colonial times. The main residential area is to the West of downtown with many quiet streets. The town is mostly made of single family homes and borders with Bowie and Largo. The population is diverse and the close knit community feel is everywhere.

Major features of the town include the courthouse, administration building, board of education, a lake, and a walking path. It is also home to the Prince George’s County Equestrian Center which is where the county fair and numerous other events are held.
The Town of Upper Marlboro has a downtown, Main Street, which houses a variety of local businesses. Close to Bowie and Largo, shopping is easy and convenient. The town also has its own police department and a fire station to aid in keeping the residents safe and protected.

Bordered by two state highways, getting around is a breeze! A 35 minute drive to the District of Columbia and less than an hour from Baltimore, Upper Marlboro offers convenience to those who need to get to.
