Monarch Waystation Cleanup at Belair Meadows

Join members of the Green Team Natural Resources subgroup as they cleanup their pollinator garden at Belair Meadows. Green Team members will walk volunteers through methods used to maintain a healthy garden, and answer any and all questions about pollinator-friendly plants.

Senior Program: Violin Performance

Location: Bowie Senior Center
Prince George’s County Police Department presents Officer Alexander Strachan in a live violin performance. Officer Strachan is a graduate of the police academy and strives to continue healing people of all walks of life through his violin playing. He is a long-time Bowie resident and enjoys performing for older adults. Officer Strachan currently patrols in District V in Clinton, Maryland. Come and join this outstanding musical program.

Annapolis Chocolate Binge Festival

Start off the December holiday season with some fun and indulge your sweet tooth at the annual Annapolis Chocolate Binge Festival.

Holiday Jingle Skate

Bowie Ice Arena’s Holiday Jingle Skate will have skating, music, games, door prizes, a bake sale, free mini lessons and a very special visitor. Admission is FREE with a donation for the Toys for Tots drive. The Ice Arena will also be collecting canned food items for the Bowie Interfaith Pantry. Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony

Time: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Location: Bowie Senior Center
Bundle up for caroling outdoors, followed by Santa and Mrs. Claus’ arrival atop the Bowie Volunteer Fire Department’s ladder truck. Children are invited to do a holiday craft while waiting for an exciting visit with Santa. Admission is free, but you can bring a little extra holiday cheer with a canned food donation for the Bowie Food Pantry.

You won’t want to miss this spirited holiday show. The South County ShowStoppers is a group of more than 40 volunteer senior citizens who perform variety shows with singing, dancing, and comedy. Ranging in age from 60 to 94, all are energetic and enthusiastic, and each shares a commitment to oneself as well as to the community. Van Ness Main Street’s 7th Annual Holiday Pop-Up

Everyone’s favorite pop-up shopping event is back for its seventh year on Saturday, December 10th from 11 AM – 4 PM at 4340 Connecticut Ave in Van Ness. This year’s event, hosted by Go Puff and sponsored by Freedom Church DC, includes over 40 local artisans, a Holiday Hunt for prizes, the Vienna Singing Princesses, Photo Time with the Ice Queen and Snow Man and a Feed the Family Cleaning and Hygiene Product Drive. Senior Program: Bowie Senior Chorale Holiday Concert

Location: Bowie Center for Performing Arts
The Bowie Senior Chorale is back, stronger than ever, and getting ready to provide the JOY we all need. This year’s concert, enthusiastically directed by Craig Sparks, is literally “Sheer Joy”. It will be a matinee, so your entire family and friends can enjoy the show together. For your convenience, tickets can be purchased online for $8 (plus a small service fee) at www.bowiecenter.org or at the BCPA box office (15200 Annapolis Road, Bowie), which is open Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., as well as two hours before the concert.
You will be inspired, and your spirit lifted by songs such as “How Can I Keep from Singing,” “Joyful, Joyful,” “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” and more.

It’s time to put on your party attire. There are limited slots so make sure to pre-register at the front desk. Fee is $5 for residents and $6 for non-residents.

Bring your kids or grandkids to the Bowie Senior Center for a very special morning! Join Santa for a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, fruit, juice, and coffee. Enjoy photo opportunities with Santa, a magic performance, and create holiday crafts with the kids.
Preregistration is required—no walk-ins. Tickets are $5 per person. Children two and under are free.
Registration deadline is December 2 (or until filled). Pre-register early at the front desk of the Bowie Senior Center for this popular program.
