One of the best parts of the holidays is spreading thanks and joy to all those around you. So why not spread joy to those who really need it this year! 

We put together a list of the top 10 food pantries around Maryland that are accepting donations and volunteers this holiday season! 

From dropping off canned goods to helping serve meals, this is a great way to give back to the community and start the holiday season off right! 

Bowie Interfaith Pantry and Emergency Aid Fund

Donations can be dropped off Monday, Wednesday or Friday mornings 9am-12pm or by appointment.

Suggested Thanksgiving basket items:

  • 1 can cranberry sauce 
  • 2 cans/jars gravy
  • 1 bag/2 boxes stuffing
  • 2 cans corn 
  • 2 cans green beans 
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup 
  • 1 can cripsy onion pieces
  • 1 box instant mashed potatoes 
  • 1 box corn muffin mix 
  • 1 can yams/sweet potatoes
  • 1 bag marshmallows
  • 1 snack item – box of crackers, jar of nuts, etc.
  • drink item – 100% juice, coffee, tea, apple cider, hot chocolate
  • holiday paper products – napkins, cups, and/or plates
  • Perishable items: turkey, chicken, butter, frozen dessert pie

Donations can be dropped off at any time. Please call to set up a time. The pantry operates on Tuesday from 11am-1pm and Thursdays from 3pm-5pm and volunteers are always needed!

• 3 cans of corn
• 3 cans of green beans
• 2 cans of cranberry sauce
• 1 large or 2 small boxes of cornbread mix
• 1 large or 2 small cans of pumpkin
• 2 cans of evaporated milk
• 1 pie crust mix
• 2 jars or cans of turkey gravy
